When I travelled to Fukuoka on my own, I stayed at HEARTS Capsule Hotel & Spa Nakasu!
It is a budget capsule hotel located at Nakasu-Kawabata Station.
Even with rising prices, staying right in the city centre and on a weekend, it was only 3,600 yen per night.
The amenities were perfectly adequate, and the toilets and showers felt clean, so I had a very comfortable stay.
On top of that, it is conveniently close to both Nakasu and Tenjin.

When I travelled to Fukuoka alone, I stayed at HEARTS Capsule Hotel & Spa Nakasu.
Here is where HEARTS Capsule Hotel & Spa Nakasu is located
It is right outside Exit 2 of Nakasu-Kawabata Station.
Here is the entrance
The hotel occupies the 7th and 8th floors of the building, so the ground floor looks like this.

You take this lift up to the 7th floor.

Here is the front desk
The room rate had already been paid, but at check-in I paid the accommodation tax (200 yen per night).

You store your shoes in these lockers (with keys).

Here are the lockers
They provided pyjamas plus bath and face towels.

My large backpack just about fit inside.

Here is the room
It is the typical two-tier capsule layout you see in many capsule hotels.

It is more than enough if you just need a place to sleep.

The backrest is a nice bonus too.

This is what it looks like inside the capsule
Personally I like it, because you can retreat into your own little world.

You can even get some work done if you really try.

The panel is a little old-fashioned, but you can still set an alarm.

There is also an air-conditioning vent.
The temperature is centrally controlled, but you can adjust the airflow yourself.

There was a power outlet under the TV.
Unfortunately there are no USB ports.

Here is the shower room

The sinks were clean as well.

Here are the shower booths
I appreciated that face wash was provided too.

Here is the toilet area

It is not brand-new, but it gave the impression of being well cleaned.

The 8th floor is a lounge/relaxation space.

There was also a kettle, microwave and fridge.

There were lots of manga to read as well.

- The price of 3,600 yen per night despite being right in the city centre
- The whole place felt very well cleaned
- Almost directly connected to Nakasu-Kawabata Station
As a side note, the capsule area was reasonably quiet.
Of course it depends on how considerate the other guests are, but I was not woken up by noise during the night (always a plus!).
Who I recommend this place for
- You are planning to sightsee around Hakata
- You want a cheap place to stay in the city centre
Wishing you a great trip!
