Visiting “Irabu Soba Kame” on Irabu Island 【Irabu Island Trip with Our 2-Year-Old】

We visited “Irabu Soba Kame” during a family trip to Irabu Island!

It is a popular restaurant that was also featured on the TV show “Tabi Salad”.

You can enjoy Irabu soba with a rich bonito-based broth.

You will also notice how it differs from Miyako soba.

Visiting “Irabu Soba Kame” on Irabu Island

We went to “Irabu Soba Kame” on Irabu Island.

Here’s where “Irabu Soba Kame” is located

It is about a 4-minute drive from Sawada Beach.

Here’s what the shop looks like

Here’s the inside of the restaurant

There are table seats.

There is also a tatami seating area.

There were lots of autographs from celebrities.

You buy meal tickets from the vending machine.

Here’s the menu

This is the “Kame Soba”

The yushi tofu, soft pork cartilage (soki) and three-layer pork are all delicious.

This is the “Irabu Soba”

It includes namarebushi (dried, smoked bonito), so the bonito broth flavour comes through even more clearly.

The firm, chewy noodles go perfectly with the light, clear soup.

Our 2-year-old was happily slurping it up too!

This is the tuna nigiri sushi

So fresh and tender!

  • Those who want to try Irabu soba
