When we travelled to Irabu Island as a family, we stayed at HOTEL Kuu!
It is an apartment-style hotel that comes with a washer-dryer and a kitchen.
Since we have a small child, having flooring was also something we really appreciated.
The building is quite new and the rooms were very clean.
It is a hotel I can definitely recommend if you are planning to stay on Irabu Island.
Staying at HOTEL Kuu
When we travelled to Irabu Island as a family, we stayed at HOTEL Kuu.
Here is where HOTEL Kuu is located
It is about a 2-minute drive by car from Obanmai Shokudo in Sarahama.
Here is what the hotel looks like
It is a grey building halfway up a slope.
The car park is next to the building.
There is also a shower room and toilet by the entrance.
It is convenient for rinsing off sand after playing at the beach.
The building is laid out like an apartment complex.

It feels like a studio apartment.
Since it is a double bed, it might feel a bit tight if your child is bigger.
In that case, I recommend booking a twin room.
There are power outlets by the bed, which is very practical.

We ate breakfast in the room.

It was very handy for washing our child’s bibs and spoons.
The sink is new and clean.
The appliances are new as well!
The TV was wall-mounted!
You can hang clothes on hangers on the wall.
The room has flooring, but disposable slippers were also provided.

We used the washer-dryer many times during our stay!
The bathroom also has a separate washing area.
Amenities are also well provided!
POLA shampoo, conditioner and body soap
There are also clip hangers, laundry nets and detergent.
There is no room cleaning during your stay.
They provided enough towels for the entire stay in one go.
They even gave us extra amenities.
Cups, paper plates and other items are also available at the entrance.
Of course, there is an elevator, so large luggage is no problem.
There is a FamilyMart just one minute away by car from the hotel.
It was really convenient.
As the concept of the hotel is “living like a local”, we were able to stay very comfortably even with a small child.
The staff were also very kind.
- The room has flooring, so our child could walk around barefoot.
- The kitchen and washer-dryer were incredibly convenient.
- The bathroom has a washing area, which makes it easy to bathe with a child.
On a side note, being able to do laundry during our stay meant we could pack lighter in the first place, and we also avoided the mountain of washing waiting for us once we got home (so nice!).
